Bio

I grew up climbing trees, making forts/ treehouses, and running around in the forests of NJ.

I think this had a large impact on my aesthetic sensibility and sense of self. Forests seem to ground me and nurtured my soul. The sense of wonder and awe I derive from nature and how I am a part of it is the main muse in my art. Still to this day a large part of my inspiration, play, and spiritual practice come from going into nature to reconnect to this side of myself and life.

Play and material experimentation are a vital part of my art practice. I try to infuse beauty, novelty, and enchantment into environments in an accessible way. I hope that my art serves as a portal to spark curiosity and suspend boredom even just for a moment.

After my childhood, I attended RISD for my undergraduate degree in painting where I took advantage of their amazing facilities by experimenting with as many materials, processes, and tools as I could.

Later in my young adulthood, after experiencing the enchanting, immersive, interactive, art of my first festival I moved to the Bay Area to link up with people producing the festival art projects and get involved in building some. I never ended up pursuing this direction too far because I ended up meeting my painting business mentor who encouraged me to pursue my fine art paintings as my main job. Subsequently, I launched a successful small business and fully supported myself off of my art for roughly four years.  I am very proud of this accomplishment because I never thought it was possible and I find the business side of art fun and exciting as well.

I am pivoting in my career path to becoming an art teacher alongside running my art business. I have just moved to New York and am currently in Colombia Teachers College Masters Program earning my certification to teach art.
I would love to build a community, friend, and support system surrounding art and growth so feel free to connect with me.
